Shaded Seats at Nu Stadium

Nu Stadium is a soccer-specific venue located in Miami, Florida. In 2026 it opened as the permanent home pitch for Lionel Messi and Inter Miami CF. It incorporates many features from the best soccer stadiums in Europe, South America and elsewhere in the world. Where are the seats in the shade and sun at Nu Stadium?

Typically, shaded seats at Nu Stadium are situated:

• South Goal Line: First seats to get shade in the afternoon
• West Sideline: Shaded by mid-afternoon and evening

Conversely, sunny seats are predominantly found:

• East Sideline: Sunny from mid-afternoon to sunset

Most soccer matches at Nu Stadium kick off in the evening, though there are occasional daytime games, particularly at the beginning and end of the MLS season. Even if you’re attending an evening game, the long summer days in South Florida mean you need to be aware of the position of the sun no matter the start time.

Nu Stadium Orientation to the Sun

Nu Stadium’s slightly off-axis north-to-south orientation means the sun is almost directly above the south goal line between 1 and 2 p.m. Over the course of the afternoon, the sun dips behind the structure on the west side of the stadium. It eventually sets closer to the north goal line.

Seats in the Sun and Shade at Afternoon Nu Stadium Matches

Nu Stadium is beautifully built with an oval shape and a ring roof that encircles the pitch. Many seats fall under the roof’s drip line, providing protection from rain. The roof also offers considerable shade, but the sun’s changing position throughout the day means that some sections receive more shade than others.

For early afternoon matches, most seats are shaded as the sun is high above and the roof protects fans underneath from direct sun. Every seat in the 200-level is safely shaded at this hour as the roof extends far beyond every seat in sections 201-239. The seats most likely to be sunny are those in the front rows of sections 115-135 along the east sideline and behind the north goal. As the match minutes tick up, the sun shifts and angles toward these sections.

On the west sideline, the premium club seats and club seats are covered and safely shaded. On the rare chance a match starts before noon, field-level sections F1-F16 will get hit with late morning sun.

Seats in the Sun and Shade at Evening Nu Stadium Matches

By early evening, the entire west sideline of the stadium and the areas behind both goals will be shaded. The sunniest seats are on the east sideline. Sections 115-125 and 215-225 are all at risk of late afternoon and evening sun. Don’t let the fact that these are covered fool you — the angle of the sun points directly toward these seats. As the sun dips behind the stadium, sections 115-125 will become shaded once the shade line crosses the pitch. Sections 215-225 stay sunny through sunset.
