Geodis Park is a state-of-the-art soccer stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. It serves as the home pitch for Nashville SC. The climate in Middle Tennessee, especially during the summer, is known for its heat and humidity. Fans heading to matches here should consult this guide along with the stadium’s seating chart to find the best shaded seats at Geodis Park.

Where are the seats in the shade and sun at Geodis Park?

Typically, shaded seats at Geodis Park are situated:

  • Along the west sideline
  • In the upper-levels behind the goal lines

Conversely, sunny seats are predominantly found:

  • Along the east sideline

Matches at Geodis Park usually kick off in the evening, but mid-day and early afternoon matches are mixed into the schedule too. Nashville is known for its mild climate with summer days that get very hot and humid.

Geodis Park Orientation to the Sun

The stadium’s northwest-to-southwest orientation means the sun is almost directly above the south goal line in the 1:00 PM hour. Over the course of the afternoon the sun slowly descends behind the west side of the stadium. It eventually sets near the north goal line.

The graphic below shows the approximate location of the sun throughout the day on July 1st.

Where to Buy Tickets

Seats in the Sun and Shade at Afternoon Geodis Park Matches

Geodis Park is similar to soccer-specific stadiums built during the same era. It features seating on all four sides of the pitch with a hollow rectangular roof covering the stands on all sides. The roof is helpful in keeping direct sun away from many seats, but due to the sun’s position throughout the day, some sections receive more shade than others.

For 1:00 PM games, the most shaded option is behind the south goal line in sections 225-233, where the roof provides direct cover. Seats closer to the pitch in sections 126-132 may start sunny but will quickly become shaded as the match progresses. On the west sideline, club sections C01-C07 and sections 101-103 and 135-137 are mostly shaded thanks to the roof, though the front rows may begin the game in the sun.

The sunniest seats are on the east sideline, especially in sections 113-123. Upper-level sections 213-223 are partially under the roof, and while some seats may be shaded, others, depending on their exact row and the sun’s position, could be directly in the sun’s path.

Seats in the Sun and Shade at Evening Geodis Park Matches

By early evening, the entire west sideline and the south goal line of the stadium will be shaded. The east sideline sections 113-123 will remain sunny until the sun dips low enough to be blocked by the stadium on the opposite side. Additionally, for those with sensitive eyes, caution is advised in sections 213-223, as these seats will face the sun for a part of the game.
